朝、ノーラに日記を書いてもらいました。
My parents have always said that I was probably meant to have been born in Japan, because of my love for everything Japanese. I finally made it here!
I have loved every moment of Japan so far. I love the food, shops, attractions, culture and atmosphere.
I eat much larger meals than I am used to, but they are always delicious! I am vegan, so I realize it can be inconvenient to feed me sometimes! I am eternally grateful for the wonderful meals the Ochi family has made for me. I help make おにぎり at home and take it to school, or I buy ざるそば and vegetable 天ぷら. Everything is delicious. I am not used to sitting at low tables, or standing up to eat at restaurants!
Some of my favourite parts of Japan have been singing karaoke, playing Alice in "Alice in Wonderland," and visiting Harajuku. I love singing Japanese songs. We have a few karaoke places in Canada with Japanese songs, but I was happy to find an even wider selection here, and it helps me practise reading Japanese.
I still need to practise my lines for "Alice in Wonderland," but playing the part of Alice, and contemplating about how to make her face when she grows tall has been fun. I enjoy playing with the Labo Party kids. I also enjoyed helping some of the younger kids with English.
Harajuku is a famous place, all over the world. Getting to explore and shop there was wonderful. There's fashion for everyone. All the clothes were really beautiful. I spent too much money!
Getting to practise my Japanese here has been a great opportunity. I'm already finding myself spending more time trying to understand the lyrics of my favourite Japanese songs.
I'm looking forward to the future weeks I spend here!

ノーラは、いつも機嫌がよく、ラボの仕事も、ラボの子供たちと遊ぶことも、ビーガン料理づくりも、快く手伝ってくれます。
やはり、何か自分の核になるものを持っていると、自分が何のためにここにいるのかを見失わないので、強いのかなと思います。
食べ物以外は、全然、気を使わずにすみますが、やはり、食べ物が～。
ただでさえ、献立を考えるのが苦手（実は、おつまみを考えるのは好き）なのに、豆腐か厚揚げで、毎日違ったメニューを考えるのは至難の技。でも、自国にいるときは、ブロッコリーとスパゲティくらいしか食べないのに、日本ではいっぱい食べているときき、ちょっとうれしい。
どなたか、豆腐、厚揚げ、豆の簡単なレシピをご存知の方、おしえてくださ～い！
わが娘も、昨年、ホームステイをした際には、家にいるときより、たくさん食べたというし。
それも、すっごくおいしかったといっていました。お父さんがフィリピンの方なので、醤油も常備してあり、味付けがあっていたこともあるようですが。
受け入れてみると、昨年の娘のホームステイ、そして、その前の年の受け入れのこと、いろいろ思い出すものです。
