Yes, that’s a ”good old photo,” isn’t it? You were a high school
student and now you already graduated univ. and working in
NZ...Time does fly!
Yes, I’m enjoying myself in Ohio, USA.
Actually it’s my daughter’s host-family in 2002 whom I’m staying
with right now.
I’m looking forward to reading all about your trip with your mom
in NZ and a new job. Update it when you have time.

Hi,
Thank you for your coment in my blog and today is my first time
to visit your homepage. I saw the pictures on the top page. it
was long time ago... I’m very suprise there is LABO homepage but
it’s so nice to know you and labo what is going on.
Do you enjoy in Ohio? I hope you will have nice experiences to

I’d love to visit your farm and see ”Japanese Black Trifle”
(I am a Japanses but don’t know this tomato!), but I am afraid

It was a nice surprise to meet you at OSU and talked about Koto,
Hayata tutor, Oie tutor, Adachi tutor, her granddaughter Yuka,
and Labo summer camp in Yutsubo in 2009.
Thanks to 4H staff’s effort and hard work, we could have this
great experience her in USA.

Hello Kiyomi,
I wanted to again welcome you to the United States and to Ohio!
It was a pleasure meeting you and your ”host family” Saturday at
the Medina Farmers’ Market. I hope you enjoyed your day and also
hope you enjoyed learning a bit about our small farm here in
Homerville, Ohio
If you and your hosts are interested in visiting our small farm
while you are here, we would enjoy showing you our farmstead! We
are about 12 miles south of Medina, Ohio.
I also failed Saturday to show you one of my heirloom tomato
varieties I am growing for the first time this season called
”Japanese Black Trifle” it has become one of my and many
customers’ favorites!
I wonder if there are ”new generation” sustainable small farms
starting in Japan?
I must apologize, I don’t know very much about the Japanese
agriculture - likely forgot anything I learned in school
regarding it - a very long time ago :)
I will browse your website from the business card you gave me.
Enjoy your visit and have a safe journey home eventually!

Welcome to Ohio! オハイオへようこそ! I am happy that I met you
at orientation.
How was the bus ride? How was your afternoon? At OSU (Ohio State
University) when you left, we helped other buses go. Then we
practiced for the ”welcome ceremony”. It was good. My host
sister is very tiered. We got hambergers. She said ”THIS IS BIG!”
Watashi wa nemui to ”happy” desu. :)
Anatano ”space” ga suki desu. I can’t read most of it, but I
like your blogs and pictures.

みかんさま
シャペロン経験は私にないですが、自分の国際交流プログラム参加時、
10歳と15歳の時に自分が何を感じて考えたか、30年経とうが鮮明に覚え
ています。その時の友人たちの反応と交わした言葉もよく覚えていま
す。30年後も鮮明に覚えるような、痛烈な刺激を得られたことに、ラボ
にいれて、国際交流に送り出してくれた両親に感謝です！！

＞そうだと思います。テーマ活動というのはある意味正解のない世界。
→「正解のない世界」だからこそ、時間がかかるし、ぐちゃぐちゃにな
る時期や、出口が見えない時期や、なかなか成果が目に見えない時間
を、じっと、待つ。（ほう～、こういう展開になるか！！？と面白がっ
たり、余裕があるときはいいですが、時々、爆発します・・・汗）
＞参加者全員が納得しうる方向への導きを、様々な要因をからめながら
していく作業となりたつ結果。場所やメンバーが違えばまたおのずと違
うものになったり、変らないところがでてきたり。それも醍醐味。
→ひとつとして、同じテーマ活動がない所以ですね。ラボ・ライブラリ
ーが、永遠に新鮮な理由でもあります。でも、ライブラリーって、聞く
度に、新しい発見がありますし、その時々の、自分の状況だったり、心
境により、受ける印象が違うし、気づくことが違うのが、本当に不思
議。
＜自分と違う意見の人がいても、その人の人格否定にまでレベルが下が
ることはない。違う意見の存在を認め、・・・
→そう、そう、それです！ラボっ子って、本当に、違いを認め、違いを
面白がり、じゃあ、こうしたら、どう？って、一つ一つの意見を、一人
一人を、否定することがなく、みんな取り込んで、ダイナミックに、進
んでいきますよね～。私は、時間と空間を提供しているだけ。黙って、
見守っているほうが、いいかな～って、思います。
０歳から、大人まで、学びあえる空間が、ラボには、あります。私も、
ラボっ子に学び、ラボママに学び、精進の日々です。（＃＾＾＃）

ホームステイで、3日もたてば、いままでからだのなか？にためこんでき
た英語が、一斉に噴出し、あふれてくるでしょうね！テーマ活動にその
こなりCDにひたすら耳を澄まして一生懸命取り組んできた子なら間違い
なく！
